"3+8 NUMBERS
The new “011” prefix with 8-digit number or also known as 3+8 numbers, consist of a common 3-digit prefix & a unique 8-digit subscriber number. This is slightly different than the current mobile number, which has only 7-digit subscriber number or known as the 3+7 number format.
Our systems are now 3+8 number compliant but the new 3+8 numbers with "011" prefix will only be available to new Maxis/Hotlink subscribers at a later date. An example of the new Maxis mobile number is 011-12xxxxxxxx. This new 3+8 numbers will co-exist with current 3+7 numbers, which starts from prefix 010, 012,013, 014, 016, 017, 018 & 019.
Current mobile numbers aren’t affected by the new 3+8 numbers and remain unchanged.
